Route
Day 1, arrival in Mallnitz

Parking at the hotel or nearby public parking lot (3 minutes walk) included. Your rental bike (if booked) will be waiting for you at the hotel. Overnight stay in a comfortable 3☼☼☼ hotel.

Day 2, Spittal/Seeboden (54 km) 

At the bottom of the valley via Obervellach into the Drau Valley and to the day's destination. Overnight stay in a beautiful 4☼☼☼☼ hotel.

Day 3, Tarvisio (68 km, 253 metres altitude)

Car-free along and near the Drau to Villach (old town worth seeing). Slightly uphill via Arnoldstein to Tarvisio. Overnight stay in a good 3☼☼☼ hotel.

Day 4, Carnia/Venzone/Gemona (56/65 km, 85 metres altitude)

Through the heart of the Alpe Adria Cycle Route in the narrow Fella Valley, car-free to Pontebba and on to the day's destination. Overnight stay in a good 3☼☼☼ hotel.

Day 5, Udine (63/54 km)

Mostly car-free near the Tagliamento through the fertile landscape of Friuli to Udine. Overnight stay in a classy 4☼☼☼☼ hotel.

Day 6, Trieste (61 km by bike, 24 minutes by train)

Pass the fortified town of Palmanova on your way to Aquileia; via San Lorenzo to Marina Julia beach and nearby Monfalcone. Continue by train to Trieste. Overnight stay in a beautiful 4☼☼☼☼ hotel.
Active version: On bikepaths through the magnificent, breathtaking lagoon and through the Valle Cavanta nature reserve via Grado to Monfalcone, by train (approximately every half hour) to Trieste (+ 32 km)

Day 7, Return journeyPassenger return transfer

Every Friday by bus from the hotel in Trieste to Villach (arriving at around 12:30 p.m.) and then by train to Mallnitz (e.g. departing Villach at 1:16 p.m., arriving Mallnitz at 2:03 p.m.) Every Saturday, take the bus from the hotel in Mallnitz (arriving at approximately 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.); on the remaining days by train (2 x change).

Return transfer of your own bikes

Return transfer of your own bike (+ € 38,-): drop off on Thursday at 4:00 p.m., available the following day from approx. 2:00 p.m. in Mallnitz.
