Route
Day 1, Arrival in Bregenz

Free or low-cost parking options are available 2–4 km from the town center (subject to availability, approx. €6 to €10 per day, pay locally) or at the Pfänderbahn parking garage (can be booked in advance). Bike rental (if booked). Overnight stay at 4☼☼☼☼ Hotel.

Day 2, Egnach/Güttingen (46/56 km)

Cycle past the beautiful lakeside parks to Mehrerau, the region’s only active monastery. Continue through the Altenrhein nature reserve to your destination for the day. Overnight stay at a 3☼☼☼ or 4☼☼☼☼ Hotel.

Day 3, Stein am Rhein/Gailingen (51/61 km)

Follow the shores of the Untersee to the medieval town of Stein am Rhein. Famous for its painted façades, it is one of Switzerland’s most beautiful small towns, before continuing to your overnight destination. Overnight stay at a 3☼☼☼ or 4☼☼☼☼ Hotel.

Day 4, Rhine Falls (30/50 km)

Cycle along the Rhine Cycle Path to Schaffhausen (home to the Albrecht Dürer fortress Munot), continue to the largest waterfall in Europe, and return. Overnight stay as on the previous day.

Day 5, Überlingen/Uhldingen (59/69 km by bike, 15 minutes by ferry)

Ride through the Radolfzell Marsh and via Wollmatingen to the island of Mainau (optional visit). Take the ferry from Wallhausen to Überlingen and continue to your destination. Overnight stay at a 3☼☼☼ or 4☼☼☼☼ Hotel.
Active version: From Wallhausen via Bodman-Ludwigshafen (namesake of Lake Constance) to the overnight destination (+38 km).

Day 6, Bregenz (57/65 km)

Visit the Baroque church of Birnau and the pile-dwelling museum. Cycle via Meersburg to Friedrichshafen, known as the Zeppelin city. Pass the Argen nature reserve, continue to the island town of Lindau, and on to your final destination. Overnight stay at 4☼☼☼☼ Hotel.
