A cycling and river cruise through seven countries: From Passau through Vienna, Bratislava, and Budapest to the famous Iron Gate, you’ll experience Europe’s cultural diversity, magnificent cities, and impressive river landscapes. During the day, you’ll cycle along the most scenic stretches of the E6 European Cycle Route; in the evenings, you’ll enjoy comfort, fine dining, and a relaxed atmosphere aboard the 4****Superior MS Primadonna.

Route
Day 1, Arrival in Passau

Individual travel by train or car. Boarding begins around 4:30 p.m. Transfer from the Donau Touristik private car park or Passau main railway station to the ship from around 4.30 pm. The welcome meal will be served after boarding.

Day 2, Wachau (53 km)

Pick up rental bikes (if booked). Pass by Melk with its imposing abbey and continue on to the wine-growing towns of Spitz, Dürnstein, and Krems (UNESCO World Heritage Site).

Day 3, Danube Floodplains/Bratislava (40 km)

Arrival at 8:30 a.m. Optional: Guided city tour of Bratislava (1 hour). Car-free trip to the Meulensteen Cultural Island (individual visit to the gallery) and back.

Day 4, Puszta (55 km)

After lunch: Optional: Guided tour of Kalocsa Cathedral and the Baroque Bishop’s Palace (1 hour), followed by a car-free trip to the Baroque town of Baja. The ship departs from Baja at 6:00 p.m.

Day 5, Sava Cycle Route/Belgrade (35 km)

Arrival in Belgrade at noon. Optional: City tour including Kalemegdan Fortress (2.5 hours). Cycle along the car-free Sava Cycle Path to Ada Ciganlija Island and Lake Savsko Jezero. Return via the same route, or continue across the daring Brankov Bridge to Zemun.

Day 6, Iron Gate and Kladovo (28 km)

Arrival at 10:00 a.m. Cycle to the Turkish fortress of Fetislam and on to a winery near Vrbica/Korbovo. Return to the ship. Pass through the 120-km rocky stretch of the Iron Gate around 7:00 p.m. (sunset around 8:00 p.m.).

Day 7, Golubac and Silver Lake (22–44 km)

Golubac (Serbia’s largest fortress, guided tour). After lunch, bike tour from Veliko Gradište—a car-free route—to Silver Lake/Srebrno Jezero and back; possibly continuing on to Ram.

Day 8, Novi Sad (46 km)

After breakfast, arrival in Novi Sad. Magnificent cityscape; former capital of southern Hungary. Along the car-free Danube Bike Path to a wine tasting near Futog. Return.Optional: City walking tour including Peterwardein Fortress (3 hours).

Day 9, Mohács(22–46 km)

Bike tour from Mohács through the Duna-Drava National Park to Kölked (Stork Museum), continuing to the Sátorhely Battle Memorial and back.

Day 10, Budapest (24 km)

Optional: City tour by bus (3 hours) in the morning. Bike tour to Margaret Island or, alternatively: a guided city tour by bike in the afternoon. Active option: Bike tour to the artists’ village of Szentendre (55 km round trip). At 10:00 p.m., departure by boat through the festively illuminated Danube metropolis.

Day 11, Esztergom/Štúrovo (56 km)

From Esztergom/Štúrovo, ride on car-free levee paths through small, picturesque villages like Moča to the fortified town of Komárno. Optional: Tour of Monostori Fortress

Day 12, Vienna

Arrival around 9:30 a.m.; disembarkation by 10:30 a.m. Return trip by bus* or train to Donau Touristik private car park or Passau Central Station, or an extra night in Vienna.

*Return transport of guests’ own bicycles is included as part of the bus return trip.

 

For your safety, the Captain may make changes to the itinerary at any time (including on short notice) due to high water, low water, or other cases of FORCE MAJEURE. Arrival times are subject to lock waiting times and assume normal water levels.

Gastronomy

The benchmark of all cruise ships! With us, individuality is the big plus. From the vegetable juicer at the American buffet to the "cheese from the board" at the end of the 4-course menu, we cater to your wishes. Dietary requirements are sometimes possible, please specify when booking. The choice of dishes is characterised by the specialities of all ten Danube countries, especially Viennese cuisine really comes into its own here. In addition, we offer the lowest bottle wine prices of ALL Danube ships, for example 1 bottle (0.7 l) Bordeaux Château Lamothe-Vincent Jg. 2011 for only € 17.90. Five meals daily with breakfast buffet, served 3-course menus at lunch and 4-course menus in the evening; afternoon coffee with pastries; midnight snack.
