Saturday, arrival in Gronau-Epe

To Gronau-Epe to the 4☼☼☼☼Hotel Schepers to meet the three Schepers sisters, parking at the hotel, welcome dinner. Your rental bike (if booked) will be ready for you.

Sunday, Dinkelstein Route (31 miles)

To Gronau – city of pop music (birthplace of Udo Lindenberg) and beautiful churches. Across the Dutch border along the Dinkel river to Losser (historic Erve Kraesgenberg farm) to the arboretum near De Lutte, then back through the De Oelemars nature reserve.

Monday, Ahaus (37 km)

Bike tour through the Lasterfeld to picturesque Ahle. Passing Horst moated castle (including school museum) to the center of Ahaus (Gothic church). The return route takes you via Wessum (clog village) and Graes back to the hotel.

Active tour: Detour to Alstätte (+ 19 km) – characterized by agriculture for many centuries. Traditional crafts and farms are still present today.

Tuesday, Alstätte - Buurse (44 km)

Bike tour along the Dinkel River and through the Amtsvenn to the historic “Haarmühle” mill right on the German-Dutch border. Return through the Weiße Venn.

Wednesday, Metelen (48 km)

Cycle eastwards to Metelen. Return to the hotel via the village of Heek and neighboring Nienborg. Dinner included in the evening.

Active tour: Detour to Ochtrup (old textile factory, pottery, doll, and toy museum) + 10 km.

Thursday, Gronau - Bad Bentheim (47 km)

Cycle to the Dreiländersee lake, where North Rhine-Westphalia, Lower Saxony, and Holland meet; continue through the Gildehauser Venn moorland and heathland area to the traditional town of Bad Bentheim with its imposing castle.

Active tour: Cycle back via Gildehaus (+ 8 km).

Friday, Enschede cheese market (43 km)

To Enschede in the Netherlands. The popular cheese and fish market with numerous snack bars awaits you at Van Heek Square in the city center; the return trip is via Stroinkslanden. Dinner is included in the evening.
