Route
Sunday, arrival in Landau in the Palatinate

Parking in the public underground car park beneath the hotel (approx. € 10,- per day, payable on site).

Monday, Speyer (51 km cycling, 85 minutes by train)

Travel by train to Wörth am Rhein (hourly service). Follow the flat Rhine Cycle Route to the cathedral city of Speyer, home to the world’s largest surviving Romanesque church (UNESCO World Heritage Site). Return by train (every 30 minutes, 2 transfers).

Tuesday, Lauterbourg (F) (50 km cycling, 50 minutes by train)

Cycle to Offenbach and continue along the Kraut-und-Rüben Cycle Route to Minfeld. Through forested countryside to Lauterbourg (France). Swimming opportunity with sandy beach (“Bassin des Mouettes”). Continue to Neuburg am Rhein and return by train (hourly service, 1 transfer).

Wednesday, Deidesheim (29 km cycling, 40 minutes by train)

Cycle past numerous vineyards to Edenkoben, then continue along the German Wine Route to Deidesheim. Stop for refreshments with wine tasting. Return by train (every 30 minutes, 1 transfer).

Active version: return by bike (+29 km).

Thursday, Karlsruhe Palace (39 km cycling, 60 minutes by train)

Travel by train to Wörth am Rhein (hourly service). Follow the Rhine Cycle Route to Neuburg, cross the Rhine to Karlsruhe Palace (individual visit). Via Knielingen back to Wörth station. Return by train and bike.

Friday, Queich Cycle Route (45 km)

Through a quiet landscape of fields and meadows along the Queich River to Germersheim (fortress, German Road Museum) and back.

Saturday, Hauenstein (56 km)

Through the Palatinate Forest–Vosges du Nord Biosphere Reserve via Annweiler am Trifels (castle) to Hauenstein, known as the largest shoe village in the world. Museum visit (included). Return the same way.
