Route
Day 1, Arrival in Montal near St. Lorenzen (863 m)

Parking is available at the hotel. Your rental bike (if booked) will be ready for you at the hotel.

Day 2, Bruneck (22 km)

Cycle onto the Puster Valley Cycle Path and continue to the nearby town of Bruneck. Discover the pedestrian zone and the impressive town center with its graphic museum, the Ragen Gate, and many other highlights. Return to the hotel.

Day 3, Lake Dobbiaco (44 km cycling, 43 minutes by train)

Take the Puster Valley train (hourly service) to Dobbiaco (1,241 m). From there, enjoy a beautiful cycle ride to Lake Dobbiaco (1,259 m), followed by a relaxed stop for refreshments. Return via Niederdorf (Gothic double chapel, Hospital Church) and Oberolang.
Active option: Continue from Lake Dobbiaco with views of the Three Peaks to Lake Dürren (+22 km, 170 m elevation gain).

Day 4, Sand in Taufers (48 km)

Cycle to Bruneck and continue along the valley floor through the romantic Taufer Valley to Sand in Taufers (864 m). Visit the castle on a guided tour. Return the same way.

Day 5, Brixen (35 km cycling, 48 minutes by train)

Pass Ehrenburg and ride gently along and near the Rienz River to Mühlbach (777 m), then continue on the newly built cycle path to the bishops’ town of Brixen (560 m). Visit the magnificent cathedral with its cloister. Return by train (approx. hourly service, one change).

Day 6, The most beautiful cycle path in the Alps to Lienz (45 km cycling, 154 minutes by train)

Take the Puster Valley train (hourly service) to San Candido/Innichen (1,175 m). From the pass, enjoy a car-free downhill cycle path leading gently along the Drava River, offering stunning views of the 3,000‑metre peaks of the Eastern Alps, all the way to Lienz (673 m). Return by train (hourly service) with your bike.
