Route
Day 1, arrival

in Spittal/Seeboden. Depending on availability, free parking near or directly at the hotel (approx. €35/week); any fees payable on site. Your rental bike (if booked) will be waiting for you at the hotel.

Day 2, Villach, 50 km by bike

Along the Drau Cycle Path, past Roman excavations at the Carantana Museum. Via Rothenthurn (castle), Paternion and Feistritz to Villach (considered the gateway to Lake Faaker and Lake Ossiacher as well as the Villach Alps). 

Day 3, around the Ossiacher lake, 40 km by bike

Follow the Drau Cycle Path downstream to the ‘Red Bridge’. Pass the foot of the imposing Landskron Castle and continue to Carinthia's third largest lake. Surrounded by picturesque scenery, cycle to Ossiach (a former Benedictine monastery with a Baroque collegiate church) and return via Annenheim. 

Day 4, Ferlach/Unterbergen, 52 km by bike

Past Silbersee lake (possibly with a detour to lake Faaker See) to Rosegg (castle with Austria's most species-rich zoo, Celtic world). Through the enchanting Rosental valley (considered one of the most beautiful valleys in Carinthia) via Feistritz to the Ferlach reservoir and the ‘gunmakers' town’.

Day 5, Velden/Krumpendorf, 40 km by bike

Via Maria Rain to the provincial capital of Klagenfurt with its southern flair and Lindwurm landmark. Along the cycle path beside Carinthia's largest bathing lake, Lake Wörthersee, to Pörtschach, with fantastic views across the lake, framed by the mountain backdrop of the Karawanken mountains, to the day's destination.

Day 6, Spittal/Seeboden 65 km by bike

Via Villach on the Drau Cycle Path back to Spittal or slightly uphill to Seeboden. Tip: This route can be shortened individually by train to Spittal.

Day 7, end of the bike tour

Departure after breakfast or booking of additional nights.
