Route
Day 1, Arrival in Passau

Pick up rental bikes (if booked) at the arrival hotel. Parking can be booked and paid for on site (approximately € 10 per car/day). Overnight stay in a good 3☼☼☼hotel.

Day 2, Linz (69 km cycling, 40 minutes by train)

Past Engelhartszell to the Schlögener Schlinge. Through the sparsely populated valley to Aschach and Eferding. By Rübenexpress (hourly train, approx. €8, payable on site) to Linz.

Day 3, Wallsee/Ardagger (60/72 km)

Cycle along the Danube Cycle Path to St. Florian (monastery tour) and Enns (optional coffee and cake at the town square, payable on site). Continue to Wallsee/Ardagger. Overnight stay in a good 3☼☼☼hotel.

Day 4, Maria Taferl/Marbach (50/40 km)

Through the Strudengau to Maria Taferl, the well-known pilgrimage site with its baroque basilica (one of Austria’s most beautiful churches), or further on to Marbach.

Day 5, Krems/Traismauer (65 km)

Continue to Melk (abbey). From here, there is the option to shorten the route to Spitz by ship (payable on site). Otherwise, continue through the vineyards via Dürnstein to Krems or Traismauer.

Day 6, Vienna (69 km, 20 minutes by train)

Via the flower city of Tulln (garden exhibition), along the Wienerwald to Klosterneuburg. Drop off the bikes and continue by train (every 30 minutes, approx. €5, payable on site) into Austria’s capital city.
Active version: By bike directly to the hotel (+16 km).

Day 7, Departure

Return transfer from the Vienna hotel on Saturdays, on other days by train (2nd class/free choice of trains, every 2 hours, no transfer to/from the station). Return transfer of personal bikes is possible from Friday to Monday with drop-off the day before in Vienna, surcharge + € 38.
