What tasks do you do on board and what do you like most about it?

My tasks on board include planning the menus, ordering and checking the food and organising the kitchen processes. Of course, I'm also responsible for preparing meals for the crew and our passengers.
What I appreciate most is the strong team spirit and the dynamic environment on board. Every day brings new challenges, and that's what makes the work so exciting.

How did you get this dream job?

I got this job through my many years of experience in the kitchen, but also through the dedication I have invested in my craft. The desire to work in a challenging and unique environment like a ship on the Danube has always been with me. For me, this job is a perfect blend of expertise and a sense of adventure: exactly what I was looking for.

What makes working on board so special for you?

Working on a ship is special because it allows me to get to know people from all over the world and work in a multicultural team. Every day is different, there is no routine. This constant variety motivates me and keeps everyday life exciting.

What has been your favourite experience on board so far?

An unforgettable experience was preparing a special dinner for the captain and his guests. The whole team worked together with passion and everything went perfectly. The praise we received afterwards has left a deep impression on me. It was a real testament to how much teamwork and dedication can achieve.

What is your favourite stretch along the Danube?

My personal favourite section of the Danube is the stretch from Schlögen to Linz. It offers a fantastic combination of impressive nature and picturesque places - simply beautiful and absolutely recommendable.

Do you have any tips for travelling along the Danube?

We definitely recommend a visit to Krems and Tulln. Both places have their very own charm and are definitely worth a visit if you are travelling along the Danube.

How do you spend your free time? What hobbies/activities do you pursue?

In my free time on board, I like to relax, watch films, read or chat with my colleagues. Occasionally, I also take the opportunity to work out or go for a walk in the city where we are moored. This helps me to recharge my batteries and stay balanced.
