Day 2, Ilm Valley Cycle Route (43 km by bike, 39 minutes by train)Through the wide Ilm Valley to Kromsdorf Castle, continuing on to picturesque Eberstedt (sun dial, cyclists' church, historic oil mill) and the wine-growing region near Großheringen, right at the confluence of the Ilm and Saale rivers. Wine tasting at the winery. Return by train (every hour, 1 change).
Day 3, Erfurt (55 km)On the Thuringian Town Chain Cycle Route to Erfurt (old town, cathedral, St. Severi Church, Krämerbrücke bridge, and much more) and back.
Day 4, Belvedere Palace Weimar (16 km)Cycle to Belvedere Palace and Park; continue to Schiller's house and back.
Day 5, Luther Cycle Route (36 km per bike, 37 minutes by train)To the university town of Jena (Botanical Garden, Goethe memorials). Take the Saale Cycle Route to Göschwitz; return by train (every hour, 1 change).
Active version: Return by bike (+ 36 km).
Take the Ilmtal Cycle Route to Bad Berka with its well-kept spa gardens. Via Tannroda (castle and castle complex worth seeing) continue to the day's destination and back.
Day 7, Feininger Cycle Route (34 km)To Weimar to the Goethe National Museum. Along the Ilm Valley Cycle Route via Mellingen past fish ponds to Buchfart; return via Vollersroda.
