Route
Sunday, arrival in Gunzenhausen:

Free parking at the hotel. Your rental bike (if booked) will be waiting for you at the hotel.

Monday, Franconian Lake District (42 km):

Take the Altmühl Cycle Path to nearby Altmühlsee Lake, then continue around Brombachsee Lake and back.

Tuesday, Altmühltal (39 km by bike, 30 minutes by train):

Take the train to Solnhofen (hourly) and through the Altmühltal Nature Park past rock formations to Pappenheim (castle). Via Wettelsheim, return to the hotel with a stop for coffee and cake.

Wednesday, Hohenzollern Residence (41 km by bike, 20 minutes by train):

Take the train (hourly, included) to Ansbach. Guided tour of the magnificent Rococo palace with one of the largest orangeries in the world and a slightly hilly return trip along the Altmühl Cycle Path.

Thursday, Karlsgraben (54 km):

Via Aha to Karlsgraben, Charlemagne's first attempt to connect the Rhine and Danube (UNESCO World Heritage Site). Return via Wettelsheim.

Friday, Storchen-Radweg round trip (33 km):

Past the stork's nest with beautiful views of Alesheim. Return via Aha.

Saturday, Weißenburg (48 km):

Via Trommetsheim to historic Weißenburg (half-timbered houses) – individual sightseeing and return.

Sunday, journey home:
