Arrival on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from April 12th to October 11th

Low season: April 12th to 25th and October 3rd to 11th
Shoulder season: April 26th to June 13th and August 30th to October 2nd
High season: June 14th to August 29th

Tour
  • 242 to 302 km of cycling, approx. 30 minutes by train
  • Cycle paths are paved and very well signposted, mostly flat to gently rolling
  • 70% car-free cycle paths, 30% on quiet back roads
Route
Day 1 – Arrival in St. Jakob

Located in the Rosental valley, just a few kilometres south of Lake Wörthersee. Parking at the hotel is included. Your rental bike (if booked) will be ready for you at the hotel.

Day 2 – Lake Faak (35 km)

Via Dolintschach to Rosegg (optional visit to Rosegg Castle and the animal park), then on to nearby Lake Faak. Continue on a gently rolling route around the lake and return via Ledenitzen.

Day 3 – Villach (45 km)

Follow the Drava Cycle Path to Rosegg. Continue via Föderlach to Lake Silbersee (swimming possible), on to Villach, and then back.

Day 4 – Lake Ossiach (65 km cycling, approx. 30 minutes by train)

From Velden, take the train to Villach. Cycle around Lake Ossiach (including a visit to the Baroque Ossiach Abbey). Return by train from Villach to Velden, then cycle back to the hotel.

Day 5 – Rest day or guided cycling tour

Enjoy the excellent facilities at your hotel, or join a guided three-country cycling tour (60 km) with guide and transfers (bookable at the hotel).

Day 6 – Lake Wörthersee round-trip (57 km)

Cycle along the Drava to Rosegg, then slightly uphill to Selpritsch. Continue to Velden and along the northern shore to Klagenfurt (route can be shortened individually by train). Return via the southern shore.

Day 7 – Through the Rosental Valley (40 km)

Follow the Drava Cycle Path through the beautiful Rosental valley with views of the impressive Karawanks mountain range to the Feistritz reservoir. Return via Ludmannsdorf and Selkach.

Day 8 – Departure

After breakfast.
