Afterwards, there is time for a first stroll through this beautiful Baroque city with its impressive cathedral and historic old town. Leaving Fulda behind, you follow the Fulda Cycle Route through the broad and scenic valley of the low mountain range landscape. The route leads first to Lake Pfordt and then onwards to Niederaula. Green meadows, charming villages, and picturesque riverside scenery accompany you throughout the day. Your destination is Bad Hersfeld, best known for its impressive abbey ruins, the largest monastic ruin in Central Europe. After arrival, enjoy a leisurely walk through this attractive spa town.

Today's ride takes you through the wide Fulda Valley, characterized by open landscapes, gentle riverbanks, and small villages. Passing through Rotenburg an der Fulda, proudly known as “Naturally on the Fulda,” you continue north towards Melsungen. This charming town is considered one of the most beautiful half-timbered towns in Hesse. Its lovingly preserved old town, historic buildings, and distinctive town hall create a truly picturesque setting.

Today’s stage follows a more wooded section of the valley, shaped by winding river bends and the characteristic meanders of the Fulda. Along the way, beautiful views of the surrounding countryside accompany you. You continue to Hann. Münden, where the Fulda and Werra rivers join to form the Weser. This historic half-timbered town at the famous confluence impresses visitors with its well-preserved architecture and unique charm.

Leaving Hann. Münden, you follow the Weser Cycle Route along one of the most scenic stretches of the river. The route passes through a varied cultural landscape featuring open views, picturesque villages, and natural riverside sections. Your destination is Höxter, a historic town rich in half-timbered architecture and heritage. Nearby, the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Corvey Abbey awaits, one of the cultural highlights of the tour and an outstanding monument of regional history.

Today you continue north along the Weser through diverse and beautiful river landscapes. En route, you pass the romantic ruins of Polle Castle before reaching Bodenwerder, the hometown of the legendary Baron Münchhausen. The route then continues via Emmerthal into the historic town of Hamelin, famous worldwide for the tale of the Pied Piper. Its beautifully preserved old town, filled with magnificent half-timbered and Renaissance buildings, is well worth exploring.

From Hamelin, you cycle through the fertile Weser lowlands, characterized by fields and meadows. Your first stop is Rinteln, renowned for its attractive historic old town. Continuing towards Porta Westfalica, you reach one of the most famous landscapes along the Weser, where the river cuts through the Weser Hills. The day concludes in Minden, a former trading town with a rich history, impressive architecture, and a charming city centre.

After breakfast, your cycling holiday comes to an end. Convenient train and bus connections are available for the return journey to Fulda. If you have booked our return transfer service, your own bicycle can also be transported for an additional charge. This service is available from Wednesday to Monday and is either provided as part of the bus transfer or, when returning by train, by bicycle drop-off before 5:00 p.m. on the previous day with delivery to the arrival hotel by approximately 2:00 p.m.
